WALKDEN LIVES

In this 100th anniversary year of the start of World War One, I've been researching some of Walkden's soldiers, sailors and airmen. Here's a link to the list of names I've researched so far. The list is still a work in progress and I hope that readers of my site will be able to add to this research with their own stories and information about their relatives.

I have also researched in depth several of Walkden and Little Hulton's servicemen and women, whose stories are shared on this page and were also featured as part of the history tent which I researched and ran at 'Poppies in the Park' on July 27th, Parr Fold Park, Walkden.

Here are some of the display boards from Poppies in the Park, currently on display at Tescos in Walkden and at Brierley House, Little Hulton.

I have also written on the blog about some of the Walkden area heroes of World Wars One and Two. Here are links to some of those stories - more to be added over the coming weeks.
